There is a delicate balance between theory and practice in science. Practice is important because breakthroughs are usually achieved through it. Theory on the other hand helps enhance cognitive skills that lead to conclusions based on previous practices. For students to excel in science, both theory and practice should be encouraged and given thought in the learning process.
A thorough knowledge base on a topic of interest leads to reflection and formulation of hypotheses. By applying the processes of science and experimentation, practice turns ideas into tangible proofs upon which facts can be drawn. For learning to be effective in the science class, both theory and practice should be given equal importance. With this in mind, efforts have been made to ensure students engage in both theory and practice this semester.
