As we immerse ourselves into the 21st century, technology is becoming more and more important in our lives. Projections are indicating that most of the top jobs 10-15 years from now do not even exist yet. Having this in mind, Shuren-Ribet is placing technology at the forefront of our pedagogy.
Shuren-Ribet has wi-fi access available throughout the campus and has a 1:1 laptop to student requirement in the American High School, which we are discussing extending into the middle school. All students in the American High School will be blogging, using wikis, and social networking with their peers around the world as one indication of their progress toward their learning goals. Students will be using online research tools extensively in all classes and contributing to online discussion about issues confronting our world. In a very real sense, our classrooms extend far beyond our campus to the world community, and we are preparing our students to seamlessly enter university life and the work force and to provide valuable contributions in so doing. |
