My name is Luis Salazar. I am from Los Angeles,California, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in 2016. After graduating from college, I worked as an after-school tutor in a local school. It was here where I found a passion for education that I have been cultivating ever since.
Shortly after, I moved to China where I worked as an English teacher in Fuzhou for three years. This will be my first-year teaching at Beijing Shuren-Ribet School. I chose Shuren-Ribet because it is a great educational environment that truly cares about the educational goal of its students. This can be seen in their extensive curriculum and student support.
While I have taught all kinds of students of all ages and English proficiency levels, I truly enjoy teaching younger students. Lessons with them have been the ones that have been rewarding and enjoyable. Seeing students grow not only as English speakers, but as young adults is most fulfilling.
I believe that leaning should be fun. I like to use activities that are active and require movement. Creativity, cooperation, and critical thinking skills are also attributes that I will cultivate in class.
I look forward to working with all of you this year!
