My name is Chad Green. I graduated from University of Nevada, Reno in 2015 with a Bachelor’s in English with a specialization in linguistics and a minor in literature. Here at Shuren Ribet, I do Language and Literacy Enrichment for grades 1, 2, and 3, as well as teaching high school English. Prior to this, I taught at a STEM-focused charter school in the United States for two years before moving to Thailand to teach courses to Chinese exchange students at Chiang Mai University. I have also spent two years in China teaching English to very young learners, adults, and everyone in between.
My teaching philosophy is to give students engaging and challenging activities to allow them to practice their language skills while also being compassionate and empathetic towards the unique challenges they face, both in language learning and in life.
My favorite thing about teaching in China is definitely the immersion into another culture. It has allowed me to really expand my horizons and have experiences and opportunities I would not have thought possible.
My favorite thing about teaching here at Shuren Ribet is definitely the campus culture and the community. Since my arrival, the other teachers have been so supportive and helpful in making me the best teacher I can be, and the level of care they show for their students is unparalleled.
